J&K CM fast tracks highway project

In order to fast track the land acquisition for the construction of a 4-lane highway project from Lakhanpur to Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah asked the State Revenue Department to hasten the disbursement of compensation to the affected people.          
The Chief Minister directed the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir to monitor the clearance of payment to the concerned wherever it is yet to be made so that the land is handed over to the National Highway Authority for construction work.
Omar highlighted the importance of this project for the overall socio-economic development and progress of the state and emphasized the need for joint efforts for its timely completion.
