Jharkhand unveils 1st PPP toll bridge

Jharkhand government unveiled the first toll bridge under private-public-partnership (PPP) built at a cost of Rs 76 crore over the river Kharkai connecting the industrial towns of Jamshedpur and Adityapur. Tata Steel and Adityapur Industrial Area Authority (AIADA) were the promoters of the toll bridge project and started with Rs 21 crore equity of stakeholders. Adityapur Toll bridge Company (ATBCL) was constituted and it started the construction of the bridge. The 2.22km long bridge with four lane approach roads will help reduce the distance between industrial townships of Adityapur in Saraikela-Kharswan district and Jamshedpur by 5-6 km.
