UP to spend Rs 3 bn more on roads works

The Uttar Pradesh government decided to allocate an additional Rs 300 crores for maintenance of roads, which got damaged due to rains. This will be apart from the budgetary allocation of Rs 7100 crores that has been earmarked for maintenance of roads for the financial 2011-12. The government asked the department officials to ensure that the patch and repair works of the roads, which got badly damaged in the heavy rains is complete by November 15. The government plans to repair the national highways, district roads and other roads in the state.
